Nikon has halted their DSLR and Lens manufacturing facility in Thailand due to the record breaking catastrophic flooding in the country.
The Nikon factory is one of many in the flooded ancient capital of Ayutthaya (pronounced somewhat like: ah YOU tee uh) and sometimes spelled as Ayudhya.
Nikon, Canon, Ford, Toyota, Honda, and many other major companies have had their factories inundated in the last few days. The peak of tyhe flooding is not expected for a few more days.
In one account I read, the Nikon factory was already under 5 meters (17+ ft.) of water.
