Bryan O’Neil Hughes has released another eye-popping video demo as a sneak peek of one of the Photoshop CS5 special features.

An earlier Content Aware Fill video about Photoshop CS5 was revealed here:
New Adobe Photoshop Content Aware Fill Technology Coming in Photoshop CS5 maybe

In addition to the stunning ‘Content-Aware’ technology revealed in the video, Photoshop Product Manager, Bryan O’Neil Hughes unveils a ‘Rule of Thirds grid’ which overlays the image when he demo’s a crop at about 2:28 sec into the recording. It’s quick, and he just barely mentions it, then it’s gone.

While the video is showing other things, that brief mention and show of the ‘Rule of Thirds overlay’ has sparked some discussion on blogs, and in digital photography classrooms that I visited last night. People had already seen the video, and were excited and curious about the overlay feature.

There is more about this ‘Rule of Thirds overlay’ in this post Rule of Thirds Overlay in Adobe Photoshop CS5

Bummer- I just got CS4 and I won’t be able to get student deals anymore.
Might as well wait a few more years until CS6. Rumors have it that you’ll be able to program in what you want and it will produce the image for you.

Didn’t you get CS4 back in, like, August?
In the digital imaging world, that was so last decade.

“until CS6. Rumors have it that you’ll be able to program in what you want and it will produce the image for you.”

That is slated for CS7. You merely move your head into the 3D display field, and PS CS7 makes a New Layer Object of your idea, or appropriated ideas.
